Company History
West Brothers Transfer was started in 1946 by Floyd and Mary West as a package delivery company servicing the Raleigh, NC area. In 1954 they started moving household goods locally and added pool distribution for food manufacturers. The company grew with the addition of contract delivery agreements with a variety of major U.S. corporations. In 1974, Floyd and Mary sold the business to their sons and the business expanded into warehousing, brokerage, fleet leasing and contract maintenance. While the warehousing business had initially supported the company’s dedicated trucking business, West Logistics quickly developed its own diverse customer base and expanded rapidly.
In 2010, brothers Craig and Tommy West sold the West family of companies (excluding the trailer rental business) to Brown Trucking Co., creating a large regional diversified integrated logistics enterprise. Now, along with its affiliated companies, West Logistics offers a complete dedicated warehousing service offering that can be coupled with an integrated logistics solution up and down the supply chain, creating a seamless movement of raw materials, goods in process, and finished inventory.
